Stay updated with the newest school policy changes as the 2023-2024 school year begins.
Bathroom Policy
The bathroom policy made its debut at Emerson with its infamous “bit.ly/needtoPee.”
Students are now required to fill out the bit.ly every time they use the restroom and take a paper pass to the designated bathroom assigned to each hall.
While this may seem like a hassle to some, the policy aims to fix issues with students roaming halls and skipping class.
Phone Policy
The new cell phone policy may be students’ most dreaded rule change.
Students will be required to put up phones in a designated area for 80 minutes of screen-free learning time. Earbuds must also be removed and placed away during this time.
If found on their device, the student’s phone will be taken and turned into the office along with a $15 fee.
Doorbell
FISD has introduced a new doorbell system to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Parents must now complete a Google form and show their ID to the camera as they listen to the doorbell chime to pick up a student.
No Dropoffs
Due to the doorbell procedure, drop-offs will not be permitted.
This includes lunch, school supplies, technology, and clothing.
Students can also not exit the building to pick up deliveries such as Uber Eats or DoorDash.
