Emerson High School’s new football season has started off well and one of the great contributions to this is the addition of coach Brandon Beasely, who has a new coaching style that has benefited the Mavericks immensely.
Coach Beasely has grown up with football in his blood. That was passed down by his parents, and he aims to pass down the love of football to young kids.
“I love the sport of football and how it molds young boys into men making them grow up, and the intensity that comes with it,” said Coach Beasely.
Coach Beasely, a Texas A&M graduate, didn’t just come to Emerson to win football games. Lots of other ideas inspired him to join the coaching team at Emerson High School.
“Coming here was an opportunity that I couldn’t refuse… Seeing the new facilities, talking and learning about the types of kids, and being able to positively impact the lives of young men,” said Coach Beasely.
Coach Beasely had different levels of confidence about the team before and after district play starting.
“You know, I think our non-district play went well. Obviously we had four wins and zero losses, so lots of positive things have happened. But also there have been some negative things that we were able to learn from so we do not make the same mistakes later and in the playoffs,” said Coach Beasely.
Coach Beasely spoke about the two hour drive to Mount Pleasant that happened.
“Yeah the two and a half hour drive was difficult for the team. It took a lot of focus and maturity to go into that game like that, but it is always fun going to play at an away team’s stadium,” said Beasely.
Most high school coaches have a certain opponent in their district that their focused on. But coach is different.
“You know everybody is focused on the Lake Dallas or Argyle game, but you always want to go into any game never doubting the other team,” said Beasely.
Although joining a new school has it’s positive points it also has some negatives.
“There’s always gonna be people that doubt someone or want to see someone fail. I think that they don’t have a good grasp on all the hard work we have been doing,” said Beasely.
Coach Beasely looked forward to the rest of Emerson’s season.
“You know I think we have a great chance at going deep in the playoffs, but it all depends on us,” said Beasely.
Coach Beasely is contributing to team success and ready to be a positive role model to these young men. We are ready to see how his coaching style affects our team.
