Emerson High School welcomes new science teacher, Quynh Lam who strives to make her biology class enjoyable and memorable for students at Emerson High School.

Lam has always had a passion for science and got influenced by her high school biology teacher, helping her envision how she would follow her path in the teaching industry.

“I’ve always liked science and in high school I took AP Biology and loved my teacher. I’ve always wanted to create a classroom like hers because she made it enjoyable, and fun and I wanted to mirror that, and It really inspired me.”

Before coming to Emerson she used to student teach at a middle school meaning this is her first year teaching at a real school as well as a high school.

“Emerson is just a great place to be and I feel like I just lucked out on my first year being at such a great school.” Lam stated.

She strives to make her classroom a safe place and ensures all her students feel comfortable in her enjoyable and fun class.

“I really like to create an environment that is positive and energetic and something to look forward to everyday. That’s definitely one of my strengths making sure everyone feels welcomed in my class.”

“I feel like Emerson is so unique compared to all the Frisco schools and other districts. Emerson is just a really special place to be and I honestly wouldn’t change a thing.” Lam said.
