Have you enjoyed watching the Unbranded this year? Consider enrolling in Audio/Video Production I! In this class, students learn how to use camera and audio equipment, write and prepare plans for a variety of videos, and edit footage in Adobe Premiere Pro. Whether you’re interested in producing news content, building skills for sports broadcasting, building up a YouTube channel, creating cinematic films, or learning a variety of technological skills, this could be the class for you.

About the Contributors

Isabelle Smith, Unbranded Executive Producer/ The Charge Staff Photographer

Isabelle is a senior at Emerson and currently serves as the Executive Producer for EHS Unbranded and the Website Manager and Public Relations for the Charge. This is Isabelle's third year with the Unbranded and second year with the Charge. Isabelle has loved journalism since middle school, joining her middle school broadcast team in 8th grade and never stopping since. She was a lead producer for Independence's Knight TV for one year and has been an Executive producer for Unbranded Broadcast for three. She also works for and produces content for the Frisco ISD sports broadcast program. She is involved in pageantry and currently serves as Miss Collin County's Teen 2024, and has founded a mental health education platform. She aspires to go to school and study broadcast journalism.

Pakhee Verma, Unbranded Executive Producer

Pakhee Verma is a senior at Emerson High School and has been part of the Unbranded for four years. She is the Executive Producer for the unbranded this year. Her favorite part of her job is to be creative and put her ideas onto a screen as well as helping the team reach their full potential. When she is not working for the Unbranded she likes doing taekwondo, play guitar in her band, play chess, and play violin for the EHS orchestra. After high school, she aims to major in Data Science and then pursue a Master's in Business Administration.

Brooks Johnson, Unbranded Lead Editor

Brooks Johnson is a senior at Emerson and he serves as the Lead Editor for the Unbranded. He joined the Unbranded in 2021 and has been in the program for 3 years. He joined the class due to his passion for video editing and video compositing. Outside of the Unbranded, he likes playing the guitar and hanging out with friends.

Jacob Logan, Unbranded Associate Producer

Jacob Logan is a senior at Emerson and he serves as the Associate Producer for the Unbranded. He joined the Unbranded in 2022 and has been in the program for 3 years. He joined the class due to his love for movies, YouTube, and all things revolving around video. Jacob hopes to pursue film not just as a hobby, but a career too, planning to go to film school post-graduation. Whenever Jacob isn't in school, or working on news stories, he's usually playing drums, going to concerts, or hanging out with his close friends.

David Choi, Unbranded Short-Form Filmmaker

David is a Senior at Emerson High School. He serves as a Staff Reporter for The Unbranded. He is interested in video editing and interviews. He regularly publishes video and shorts to his YouTube channel. Outside of his work for the Unbranded, David makes edited videos about the Special Olympics including bowling, basketball, running, and javelin.

Austin Lee, Unbranded Technical Director & Reporter

Hunter Cannon, Unbranded Staff Reporter

Hunter Cannon is a Junior at Emerson High School and he serves as a Staff Reporter for The Unbranded. His favorite part of his job is using cameras obtaining footage and putting creative ideas together. When not working for The Unbranded, he likes to play video games and hang out with his close friends and make videos together.

Humza White, Unbranded Staff Reporter

Humza White is a sophomore at Emerson High School and is entering the Unbranded for his first year. He assists in editing and filming different segments of the show. His favorite part of being on the Unbranded is filming others and managing the behind the scenes work on the show. When he is not doing anything related to the Unbranded, he is involved in the Emerson Student Council as a Sophomore Class Delegate, and as a Emerson High School Football Junior Varsity Offensive Lineman. He likes to read and volunteer at different events.

Julian Whitehead, Unbranded Staff Reporter

Julian Whitehead is a senior at Emerson High school and he serves as an Unbranded Staff Reporter. He has previous experience with the Unbranded through his AV Production Course in his junior year. He is interested in The Unbranded because he wants to share people stories and also their mindsets. Outside of The Unbranded, Julian spends his time with family and friends, doing his favorite hobbies such as cooking, singing, and just goofing around. His life goal is to become the first, second generation entrepreneur in his family.

Giulia Tolar, Adviser

Giulia Tolar is the Audio/Video Production, Journalism, and Newspaper teacher at Emerson High School. She has taught fourth grade ELA and Social Studies, sixth grade World Cultures, and eighth grade US History prior to her time at Emerson. Some of her favorite hobbies are reading on her Kindle, baking, and spending time with friends and family. She also love to travel with her husband!

Together, they own and operate a wedding videography business and a photography business. They love to keep busy and share their films and photos with others!
