Districts are here! The Emerson freshman girls basketball team faced the Lebanon Trail freshman girls basketball team on January 19. Winning that game 32-10, the freshman Mavericks kept hold of their winning streak of 4-0. Read more to take a small peek into the game.
8 minutes on the clock, the first quarter starts. Emerson gets the tip launching it up to freshman Addison Bryant, and the first basket is scored. Heading back on defense, the ball is quickly turned over by freshman Anyeddiah Coleman.
“We reached our goals throughout the whole game, we played hard, we played as a team, we did everything we practiced and won the game,” said Coach Clark.
Getting back on offense, Emerson had possession of the ball again. Hustling back the ball is launched forward to freshman Jaeli Jeffrey for an easy layup. After a busy first and second quarter, halftime came and ended with Emerson having a 15 point lead.
Jeffery said, “I think we all played really well as a team and the game helped us go over new plays and defense.”
