Football captains Christian Lyons, 12; Kelton Wafer, 12; Nate Leal, 12; and Agape Lawrence, 12 hyped the crowd in anticipation of tonight’s football game, and “Echoes of Atlantis” was announced as the 2024 homecoming dance theme. Representative of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Murphey Spears, made a special announcement regarding last year’s fundraiser: Emerson High School is the designated “Rookie of the Year” of 2024 and Addisyn Wimberly, 11, was honored with an “Above and Beyond” special recognition for personal servant leadership and her incredible effort toward Make-a-Wish. The pep rally ended with the Emerson fight song and a reminder to support the varsity football team at their first game tonight at the Star. Students are encouraged to wear Hawaiian-themed clothing to show support.
