As the voting period for Emerson’s 2025 senior prom theme ends, the leadership team has already begun working on preparations for the upcoming dance. Senior head of the Emerson Leadership Team Chaavi Rohit, provides her insight on what should be expected from Prom 2025 on Saturday, April 5th.
The themes were chosen with a careful amount of consideration and attention to detail. Many ideas were offered, however the decisions had to be cut down to the two best final options.
“As we began narrowing down our ideas, we decided on a ‘Midnight in Paris’ and a ‘Night of Glamour,’” Rohit said. “They’re the most logical options since they’re both amalgamations of the best aspects of each theme we had initially suggested to each other during the beginning of the creative process.”
The ‘Midnight in Paris’ atmosphere will be romantic and classy, immersing attendees into a night of vintage beauty.
“For the ‘Midnight in Paris’ theme, we were inspired by the classic 1920’s vintage aesthetic as well as old French movies and novels,” Rohit said. “The dance would be decorated extravagantly, but also hold a sense of simple class, just like how strolling through a lively old Parisian street at night would feel.”
With the ‘Night of Glamour’ theme, guests will not only be allowed a luxuriously decorated venue, but will also be able to easily compliment the ambience of the dance.
“Being a once in a lifetime experience, capturing photos is a massive deal when it comes to prom,” Rohit said. “With a theme as general as ‘Night of Glamour,’ the decorations will be beautiful, but also easy to blend into when taking pictures. Stressing about matching the theme for photos won’t be as difficult for those who care, and for those who don’t, they’ll look effortlessly good anyways while still being able to enjoy a classy party atmosphere.”

The dance’s high budget results in high expectations, which results in lots of extensive budget planning.
“This year’s dance will have an estimated $20,000 budget,” Rohit said. “This is a huge fund for the school, so it cannot be stressed enough that we must spend responsibly and efficiently. A lot of research has gone into ensuring that every need is met while also sparing as little luxuries as possible.”
Most of the budget will be spent on the location and decorations, however there will still be many amenities offered at the dance.
“The dance will be held at the McKinney Cotton Mill, just like last year. The location’s price as well as making the venue as atmospheric as possible will eat up a good portion of our funds, but this doesn’t hinder the dance’s fun at all,” Rohit said. “Not only will the expensive decorations provide gorgeous photo opportunities, but we’re going to have an all inclusive catering buffet with vegan, sugar free, and gluten free options, a karaoke machine and a live DJ.”
Prom is treated very seriously among the leadership staff. Periodic after school get-togethers and special monthly senior meetings ensure that everything is handled without missing a single factor.
“We’ve already gone through the planning process for both theme possibilities,” Rohit said. “The leadership team meets up every day after school just to discuss certain details about prom planning, and the senior leadership team gets together once every month to strictly discuss exactly what we’re going to do for the dance.”
Prom is a completely different experience from any other school dance, everything is handled professionally and with a meticulous attention to detail.
“The process for prom is absolutely different from homecoming. With homecoming, 90% of the work is done hands-on by the leadership team and the school’s staff–the catering, the decorations, all of it,” Rohit said. “With prom, everything is professional. All of the leadership’s attention is solely on budgeting, planning and working with outside vendors. The venue’s decorations, the food, the DJ, all of it will be handled professionally.”
Emerson High School’s 2025 prom is being managed with the utmost care and is ensured to be a memorable experience for everyone involved.
“It’s not just any other high school dance,” Rohit said. “It’s the dance.”
While the last votes are counted and preparations are finalized, stay tuned for the official announcement of the theme for prom 2025.
