Emerson High School’s administration of the digital SAT for all 11th-grade students is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The SAT will be conducted at the Emerson High School campus. The test will be free of cost and registration is handled automatically by the school, which is why it’s recommended that every eligible student participates, as future attempts or retakes must be registered manually through the college board website with a fee of $68. The test will be taken through the College Board website, so it’s recommended that students make sure they’re able to access and sign into their College Board accounts before arriving to take the test.
On test day, students are required to arrive no later than 8:45 AM, with the exam beginning promptly at 9:00 AM. Students who arrive late will not be permitted to participate and there are no available makeup dates. All participants have received an email on February 28 with their testing room number. All 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students will have late arrival until 12:15 PM, where they then must find their 2nd period class for attendance. School will proceed normally at 12:30, where students will attend power hour and then their regular afternoon class schedules.
The SAT is a digital test and it is strongly recommended that students take advantage of Frisco ISD’s 1 for All Chromebook program to ensure their devices are compatible with the digital testing format. If a student wishes to review for the test or get a feel for the exam before taking it officially in class, there are many options available for Digital SAT practices resources online. IXL, Study.com, and College Board all have valuable SAT resources that should be considered before participating in the official test.
Students that take the SAT are not permitted to access cell phones or smart watches during the exam. Devices must be powered off and stored in a designated location during the exam. If a student is caught with any prohibited electronic device in the testing room or during a break their test will end and their scores will be cancelled. It’s recommended that students bring pencils, their own approved calculator, and a snack and drink that may be consumed during official breaks.
The Digital SAT is an important asset for applying to colleges and universities. A good score can really make a difference on an application, so it’s important that all testing students take the necessary preparations before testing. Students should allocate time towards studying, practicing with official SAT resources and familiarizing themselves with the College Board digital testing format. It is also equally imperative that students make sure they are eating healthy meals and have a good night’s rest before the testing date to ensure that their minds will be performing at their best during the exam.
