Over the spring break holiday I made it my mission to try the top three breakfast spots that Emerson High School Students visit and tried the best breakfast items off the menu. To find out what the top three breakfast spots were, I surveyed a few of my friends at Emerson High School and asked them what were the most popular places they thought Emerson students got breakfast and what were the best items off the menu. From there I chose the top three places and the most popular menu items chosen, to determine which breakfast place is the best for Emerson students.
After compiling all the information, the three most well liked breakfast places among Emerson students and their breakfast items are the four count chicken minis at Chick-fil-A, the Egg McMuffin at McDonald’s, and mini donut holes at AHA Donuts.
Chick-fil-A

The very first restaurant I tried was Chick-fil- A, specifically the one on Eldorado Parkway where most students stop by for breakfast before school. I had the four count chicken minis and paired it with hash browns and a Simply Orange juice. This is my usual breakfast order when I eat at Chick-fil-A and is also the most well liked breakfast item.
I would rate this meal a nine out ten, it is a light but filling breakfast. The chicken was tasty, crispy on the outside and soft inside. It was cooked to perfection, however there was too much bread on the chicken minis. Offsetting the ratio of bread to chicken in each bite. The hash browns were perfectly salted and fresh, but once they got cold they lost the perfect crispiness that made the hash browns perfect. The orange juice was cold and refreshing and a perfect pairing with the whole meal.
I really enjoyed this meal and would recommend it to all students at Emerson, in addition to its great taste it is also extremely affordable and close to the school. The whole meal cost me $8.83 and was only 8 minutes away from the school.
McDonald’s

The next place I tried is the McDonald’s on Custer Road. This is another popular breakfast place among Emerson students. I ordered the Egg McMuffin without the bacon, and I had two hash browns and some water with ice.
I would rate this meal a four out of ten. The store was very busy so I received my food a little late, so it was cold. This really affected my rating of this meal because when I tried the Egg McMuffin, the english muffin was dry, the cheese had hardened. The egg was cooked well but it lacked flavor. The hash browns were also cold by the time I got them so it did not have the crunchiness you expect from a hash brown. The water with ice was the best part of this meal and was very rejuvenating, especially after the dry english muffin on the Egg McMuffin. Based on my experience I would not recommend this to students at Emerson.
I did not enjoy this meal, however I believe I simply just had a bad experience on that day. Due to the amount of customers they had, it affected the quality of the food. The whole meal cost me $9.43, which is cheap. It is only 10 minutes away from Emerson but might take longer due to early morning traffic.
AHA Donuts
Lastly, AHA Donuts on Stacy Road, the shop everyone stops by in the morning to get donuts. They sell a variety of donuts but the mini donut holes are the most well liked item. I ordered one glazed donut, donut holes and an apple flavored Snapple drink.
I would rate the donut shop an eight out of ten. Even though it is not a whole meal it still makes a great breakfast. The glazed donut was soft and fluffy, the sweet glaze on the donut was perfect. It wasn’t overly sweet and complemented the donut very well. The donut holes were just like the glazed donuts, soft with a nice sugary glaze. They were bite sized which makes it easy to snack on before school. The apple flavored Snapple drink was tasty and extremely refreshing, it is a great addition to the donuts.
I really enjoyed this meal and I would recommend it to students at Emerson. It is only 6 minutes away from school and the whole meal cost me less than 6 dollars. Making it the cheapest and closest breakfast option for Emerson students.
Overview
Overall, all these options are great for breakfast and choosing a spot will depend on what you feel like eating in the morning. My personal best was the four count chicken minis from the Chick-Fil-A on Eldorado Parkway. My opinion is biased though because this is my go to place for breakfast. The second best was AHA Donuts on Stacy Road, however donut holes and apple juice is not a very filling breakfast and I was still hungry after eating. Lastly, the McDonalds on Custer Road which I had a very bad experience with and would not recommend.
