Since the start of the year, I have been eagerly counting down the days to this significant night, imagining the fun, glamour and unforgettable memories that would come with it. From picking out the perfect dress to enjoying the night with all my classmates, prom was the event I’d looked forward to. Now that it has passed. I can say without a doubt that it lived up to my expectations and I created memories I will cherish forever.
Venue & Decor
The theme of the night was Midnight in Paris, and it was held at the Cotton Mill. When I arrived, I initially had a bit of trouble finding the entrance, but once I did, I was welcomed into the venue by twinkling lights and beautiful flowers that adorned the doorway. The building had a warm, rustic atmosphere. While it did not fit the theme, the decoration brought the vision to life in a lovely way. Inside, several teachers and chaperones greeted you with warm smiles and compliments, leading you into the hall. The space was huge with numerous round tables adorned with miniature Eiffel Tower statues and a huge dance floor to enjoy the music.
Music
The music was incredible, I spent the majority of my time on the dance floor. Nearly every song was a hit and the DJ’s kept the energy high playing many popular songs that got everyone dancing. My personal favorites were “Fein” by Travis Scott ft Playboi Carti, “Starships” by Nicki Minaj and “TGIF” by GloRilla. Singing and dancing along to the music with my friends was easily my favorite part of the night. It was so exciting and I loved every moment.
Photos
There were several spots in the venue to take photos. RIght outside the venue, there was a fountain where many people took pictures before they walked in. Inside of the venue there were themed areas with a backdrop of the Mona Lisa and The Starry Night. One of my favorite parts was the photo booth, it had many fun accessories and props. You could take fun pictures with friends and get them printed on the spot. The pictures turned out really adorable and were perfect memorabilia for the night.
Food
The menu had a variety of options, such as fried chicken slider and tater tots, mac and cheese martinis, prickly pear infused creme brulee and a Parisian crepe station. I did not have the opportunity to try all the food, but I did try the prickly pear infused creme brulee. It had a thin layer of caramelized sugar with a creamy pear flavored center. I did not like the texture but I enjoyed the unique flavor. Even though I did not try the other foods on the menu, everything looked delicious.
Prom night was everything I imagined it to be. From the beautiful decor, to the high energy music, great food and the unforgettable moments with my friends, it truly was a night to remember. I am so grateful to experience such a special night and it is a memory I will cherish forever!
