For the final edition of the Emerson food review, I enlisted some special help from my close friend Sara to decide what she thought were the best places for dinner for Emerson students and her favorite items on the menu. She chose two restaurants that are popular with students, and after asking a few of my other friends, they all agreed with her picks.
The two restaurants and the meals she chose were the fettuccine alfredo from The Cheesecake Factory and the grilled salmon from Texas Roadhouse. I have to say once I tried both items I strongly agree with her choices.
Cheesecake Factory

The first restaurant I tried was The Cheesecake Factory on Preston Road. It is a very popular restaurant among Emerson students for dinner with friends and family. I had the fettuccine alfredo with a side of fresh corn and water to drink.
I would rate this meal a nine out of ten. The pasta was cooked perfectly, it was soft but not mushy, it was covered in a rich and creamy sauce and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. The alfredo sauce had a thick, savory flavor with a strong parmesan taste that made the dish excellent. The pasta and the sauce combined had a well balanced taste that made this meal very satisfying. The fresh corn was soft, buttery, and had just the right amount of salt. It was a nice addition to the fettuccine alfredo.
I really enjoyed this dish and would recommend it to students at Emerson. The full dinner cost me $22.95, which is reasonable for the portion size and quality. Plus, it’s only 20 minutes from school, making it a great dinner spot.
Texas Roadhouse

The second restaurant I visited was the Texas Roadhouse on South Central Expressway. It is a very popular sit down restaurant in Texas. I ordered the grilled salmon with a side of mashed potatoes and for the drink I had a Coke.
I would also rate this meal a ten out of ten. The grilled salmon tasted amazing! It had a slightly crispy outside and a tender and flaky inside. It also had a smoky but somehow also a sweet flavor, that made each bite delicious. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy, they were lightly seasoned with just the right amount of butter. They were not my favorite but I did enjoy it. The mixed vegetables include broccoli, carrots, and zucchini. It was steamed nicely but did not have any distinct flavor. The coke was a very refreshing addition to the whole entire meal.
I loved this meal and I would definitely recommend it to the students at Emerson, especially if you are looking for a nice, filling meal that tastes incredible. The whole meal cost me $20.49, which is really affordable for the amount of food you get. The restaurant is also only 11 minutes away!
Overview
Both restaurants are great choices for dinner, especially if you want to enjoy a meal out with friends or family. My personal favorite was the grilled salmon at Texas Roadhouse, the flavor was amazing and the restaurant had a nice country atmosphere. My second favorite was the fettuccine alfredo from The Cheesecake factory, it had lots of strong flavor which made it a satisfying meal that I really enjoyed.
