A star performance
JV football beats Sachse at forthcoming game, 48-18
On Thursday, October 21, the junior varsity football team played their first Forthcoming game at the Star against Sachse High School.
JV won the game, with a final score of 48-18.
“I feel great about the win because it was Forthcoming,” sophomore Kylen Evans, running back, said. “And we had to show up and show out.”
With the win, the students and coaches were very proud of all the hard work JV has put in this season.
“Winning is always a good thing,” JV coach Curtis Holbert said. “I personally believe that winning is contagious.”
Since this was the first Forthcoming game, players were determined to take the win.
“I expect to have a big turnout,” freshman Christian Lyons, wide receiver, said.” And for us to come out with the win.
Many players shined in this game. That led the team to the forthcoming game win.
“Christian Lyons, Kennedy Breedlove, Cade Fortner, and Agape Lawrence are the defensive leaders that stood out,” Coach Holbert said. “They had impactul plays throughout the game that led us to the win.”
The team has shown development and perseverance this season. The coaches are very proud of their players.
“These young men remind me of myself at that age,” Coach Holbert said. “And i’m proud to have had the opportunity to not only coach them, but grow and become a family with them”
