Representing the American Football Conference, or AFC, is the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Coach Andy Reid. This is the Chief’s second consecutive Super Bowl trip, with them defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. Representing the National Football Conference, or NFC, is the San Francisco 49ers, led by coach Kyle Shanahan. During the game, the Chiefs will wear their classic red uniforms while the 49ers will wear white, with Kansas City donning their red helmets and the 49ers donning their gold. This matchup isn’t the first time the Chiefs and 49ers have met up for the Lombardi Trophy, with the Chiefs winning their previous matchup in 2019 for Super Bowl LIV. LVIII is the Roman numeral for 58, as this is the 58th edition of the iconic game. The NFL has used Roman numerals for every Super Bowl since Super Bowl V (5), excluding Super Bowl 50.
What time is the Super Bowl? Where can I watch?
Super Bowl LVIII will start at 5:30 pm CT on Sunday, February 11, 2024, and will be played in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year’s game will be broadcast on CBS and Nickelodeon, with streaming on Paramount+. The average Super Bowl has lasted around three-and-a-half hours including halftime entertainment.
Who will perform at the Super Bowl?
Eight-time Grammy Award winner Usher will be headlining as the Halftime performer, with three-time Grammy winner Reba Mcentire performing the National Anthem. Rapper Post Malone will perform “America the Beautiful,” and R&B singer Andra Day will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
