Giovanni Cameau-Vera, The Charge Secretary & Unbranded Staff Reporter
Giovanni Cameau-Vera is a senior at Emerson High School, serving as a staff member for The Unbranded and Secretary for The Charge. Throughout his time with Unbranded Media, Giovanni has developed a strong appreciation for photography and capturing moments through his camera. Outside the studio, Giovanni can be found at football games, theatre stages, or at community events—usually with a camera in hand. After graduation, he plans to pursue a degree in Musical Theatre/Theory with a minor in Journalism and continue building his photography career. He’s incredibly grateful to Mrs. Tolar and Unbranded Media for the opportunities, support, and inspiration they’ve provided throughout his high school journey.
Cameron Johnson, Unbranded Staff Reporter
Cameron is a junior at Emerson High School and he serves as a Staff Reporter for The Unbranded! This is Cameron’s first year with the team, and he super excited to bring fun, loving, fresh ideas to the table! Cameron joined The Unbranded because he loves filmmaking, camera presence, and connecting with people everywhere! Outside of The Unbranded, Cameron is involved in Choir, Theater, Leadership and as a hobby he loves to make high quality films with his best friend Dylan on their youtube channel Dam Vlogs! Cameron is SO ready to begin this amazing work!
Katelyn Kennedy, Unbranded Staff Reporter
Katelyn Kennedy (KK) is a junior at Emerson High School and works as a Staff Reporter for the Unbranded. It’s her first year in the Unbranded, and she can’t wait to be a part of the magic! KK has a love for film and animation and a passion for storytelling. She’s in varsity theater, and is an officer for her theater ITS club. The arts are a central part of her life; from theater to choir, she loves to perform. She also enjoys teaching and is an intern in the kids ministry at her church.
Grace Torres, Unbranded Co-Secretary
Grace Torres is a senior at Emerson High School and serves as Co-Secretary for The Unbranded. This marks her first official year with the team, where she’s eager to sharpen her videography skills and build meaningful connections. Beyond The Unbranded, Grace enjoys playing guitar, singing, tennis, and participating in debate. After graduation, she plans to pursue a pre-law track, majoring in criminal justice, with the goal of attending law school. She is committed to working hard to become a criminal prosecutor, driven by her passion for justice and advocacy.
Iksha Kesari, Unbranded Co-Secretary
Iksha Kesari is a senior at Emerson High School, and she serves as the Co-Secretary for The Unbranded. This is her first year on The Unbranded, and she is excited to bring new ideas to the table and improve on her videography skillset. She can’t wait to elevate the social media page for The Unbranded while collaborating with the staff reporters to produce amazing content. In her free time, Iksha enjoys creating vlogs and playing board games with friends. In the future, she wants to continue making short films while pursuing a career in the legal field.
Giulia Tolar, Adviser
Giulia Tolar is the Audio/Video Production, Journalism, Newspaper, and Photojournalism teacher at Emerson High School. She is in her sixth year of teaching and third year as a Maverick. She holds her B.S. in Elementary Education from Grove City College, her M.S. in Educational Psychology from the University of North Texas, and she is pursuing her graduate certificate as an Educational Diagnostician from Dallas Baptist University.
She has taught fourth grade ELA and Social Studies, sixth grade World Cultures, and eighth grade US History prior to her time at Emerson. Some of her favorite hobbies are reading on her Kindle, baking, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves to travel with her husband! Together, they own and operate a wedding videography business and a photography business.
As Adviser for Unbranded Media, Giulia works to facilitate a team of student leaders to archive and broadcast the accomplishments and memories of Emerson Mavericks.
