A new La La Land coffee shop has been opened in McKinney. I have heard great things about the shop and the cute coffee to-go cups had caught my attention on Tik Tok, so I had to give it a try. I will be reviewing the La La Land coffee shop located at 8701 in McKinney. I will review one food item, one drink, the taste, the atmosphere of the shop and I will give an overall rating!
Atmosphere
When I first entered I was greeted with a very bright environment, a major theme of a happy yellow color throughout the shop. The cups and straws had bright yellow colors as well with the logo in a classical calligraphy. This added to the modern curved cup bottom, which I thought was a creative addition to the shop. The store was mildly busy, not too overwhelming with seats still being open. The line to order took a little bit of time because there was only one cashier, but the wait was a maximum of 10 minutes.
Menu
La La Land offers drinks such as coffees, teas including matcha, coolers and different flavors of milks. Food items can include sweet and savory toast as well as breakfast items like breakfast sandwiches, egg bites and wraps. Pastries are also offered like croissants, homemade poptarts and cookies!
Pricing
For drinks like coffee the price is usually around $6.00, for tea the price is around $4.00. Breakfast items range from $5.20 to $5.90. Avocado toast ranges from $9.20 to $10.50. For pastry items the most expensive item is a gluten free pumpkin loaf, landing a price of $6.00. The cheapest pastry item is the chocolate chip cookie which is $2.90. La La Land also offers home coffee blends where you can brew their coffee at home.
What I ordered
I ordered an iced Peppermint Cloud Latte, which was very delightful. The coffee had a nice peppermint flavor but not too overwhelming where the coffee flavor was still present. I would rate this coffee a 10 out of 10!
In addition I ordered an almond croissant for $4.90 which I asked to be warmed up. The croissant was nicely crispy with a rich bread flavor. The middle of the croissant had almond paste in the middle which was a little bit overwhelming but it was still very good. I would rate the croissant a solid 8 out of 10, with the crispiness but softness of the pastry making the rating high overall.
Overall Rating
Overall I would rate La La Land a 9 out of 10 when taking in the atmosphere, my drink order, my food order, menu and pricing. I really enjoyed my experience and I will definitely be going back to try new things! La La Land is perfect for enjoying a drink after a long day or even catching up with friends, so make sure you give it a try!
