As we wrap up the end of the semester, Leadership students lead a two-week celebration to lift campus spirit. With dress-up days and festive games, 10 Days of Maverick Cheer offers students the opportunity to unwind, connect, and immerse themselves in the holiday spirit during the final weeks of the semester.

The weeks leading up to break are typically filled with exams, finals, and a whole lot of stress. Luckily, under the guidance of Advisor Erin Livingston, the Student Leadership team aims to end the year on a positive note.
“We hope to accomplish a lot [during 10 days of Maverick Cheer]. We want to have fun, bring students together, and provide entertainment leading up to the Holidays,” Livingston said. “We want to help make the two weeks everyone thinks are really long go by a little faster.”
Each day during Power Hour, Leadership students can be found in the quad hosting holiday-inspired games. Co-Director of Pep and Spirit, Will Webster, 11, has greatly contributed to making their mission possible.
“Throughout the week, we host a lot of spirited games during Power Hour,” Webster said. “We really hope it brings students together and strengthens our campus culture.”
Behind the flashy decor, Leadership students are working very hard to brighten the hallways of our campus. Whether they’re painting banners or handing out hot chocolate, members such as Bianca Wachholz, 11, dedicate their time to ensuring students enjoy their last few days before break.
“We have committees to organize and execute all of our plans throughout the school day,” Wachholz said. “We spend a lot of time planning and designing games we think students will be interested in.”
In a season often associated with stress, Maverick Cheer brings a sense of joy to our campus. The days leading up to Winter Break can seem anticlimactic, but Leadership’s efforts help turn that time into something students can look forward to.
