As the school year is coming to an end, now comes one of the most memorable traditions of Senior Field Day. This is a throwback for students who used to participate in field days during elementary school, as they play their last one before graduating. Field day kicked off with some pre-game team bonding and some pictures to remember the day. The rest of the day consisted of different stations like capture the flag, water balloon dodgeball, obstacle courses and inflatables and the parachute along with some fun yard games. Seniors also enjoyed snacks from food trucks. To end the day, awards were announced for the teams for who won the most points and were the most spirited.
“I had such a good time. Some of my favorites were the obstacle course and tug of war,” Senior, Hanaa Al-Husseini, 12, said.
Lots of games brought back old moments for seniors.
“The sponge race definitely brought back a lot of memories from elementary field day.” Hussani said.
Field Day had its challenges and bumps due to some weather conditions which caused a thirty minute delay.
“It was really fun but the weather definitely affected the day,” Al-Husseini said.
The volunteers were a huge part of making field day happen. They went into field day with objectives to achieve with this event.
“We wanted the seniors to have an awesome day and [make sure] that everything went smoothly, and we hope they enjoyed the games and that they will be able to look back at this day,” volunteer Alina Tretner, 10, said.
Seniors got to compete in their last field day with the same people that they played their first field day with as a closure to their last chapter of high school.
