Spring break is quickly approaching, being from March 16 through 20! A break can be seen as a much needed rest, especially after long school days. Even though sleeping is amazing and should be cherished, if you want to engage in activities that give you something to do, I have some great ideas to maybe incorporate into your spring break in March.
Journaling
Journaling is a fun way to express yourself and write down how you feel which may be relieving as well as exciting. To start, get an empty journal or a journal of your preference. I personally got my journal off of Amazon. Add your favorite stickers or wrappers to make the journal personal to you. I love to decorate the title page and include a polaroid picture of myself and use fun markers to decorate! Junk journaling is a fun activity in which you collect wrappers, posters, or other items that you can glue and cut. You can add different textures and colors and it shows a day to day picture of your life. This is also great because it is a unique way of recycling items that might’ve ended up in your trashcan.
Clay sculpting
Using air day clay to make fun sculptures is very relaxing and a fun way to express yourself. You can get air dry clay from most stores like Walmart, Target or art stores like Michael’s. Add paint for a design or just paint your sculpture your favorite color. Some ideas for sculpting could be a holder for jewelry, a paperweight or even a cup to hold school supplies! To get precise lines or designs I like to use the back of paintbrushes and paperclips to add textures. Make sure to not sculpt on carpet or any damage prone surfaces.
Cards
Thoughtful cards for loved ones and friends to show that you care. The cards don’t have to say much, but the gesture of having a card with a saying and a picture can go a long way. Messages could be a simple ‘I love you’ or a long letter. Dedicate different images that you think that the person you are giving it to would like. I love doing this for my family and friends, especially when I am home for breaks.

Bucket list
Bucket lists is a list where you can record things that you want to do or try in a certain time period. Your goals or buckets can be for summer or even the year as a whole! Decoration supplies are totally up to you, but basic supply needs are poster paper and as many pens as you want. Some ideas to generate to-do goals could be job, restaurant or even hobby related.
I hope these tips can help you relieve some boredom and restlessness from your plate during spring break. Remember to rest and do things that give you energy to pursue the day. Have a great, restful spring break!
