On March 12 and 13, the Art Club hosted a fundraiser called “tattoo a teacher” in the quad with the help of volunteers, the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) and teachers. This raised funds for the club by having club members sell temporary tattoos to students, who could then give them to the teachers.
“We ultimately decided on tattoo a teacher because it offered significant advantages over other projects. It required minimal setup time and guaranteed high student engagement through interactive fun,” Art Club Vice President Chaeeun Son said. “These factors made it the most effective choice for a quick and successful rollout.”
An important aspect of tattoo a teacher was the staff who participated in the fundraiser, which included Lauren Liston, an AP World and US History teacher.
“I love to support our art students! I am so blown away by any artistic talent which our school is lucky to have so many students with amazing abilities,” Liston said.
This event will facilitate positive experiences for students beyond the fun of tattooing a teacher.
“The funds raised will provide the Art Club and NAHS with essential seed money,” Son said. “These proceeds will be used to purchase art supplies and fund larger-scale projects, marking a significant first step toward growing our club and enhancing our creative capabilities.”
Make sure to support the Art Club in other events throughout the rest of the year or stop by to admire their works!
